Rachel got her start baking at home and conducting many crazy baking experiments in her parents kitchen. At the age of 15 she was accepted to the California Culinary Academy Baking and Pastry Program in 2001 and graduated with her Certificate in Baking and Pastry Arts in 2002. She then decided to proceed with her education at the CCA and completed the AOS program in Culinary Arts and graduated in 2004 with her AOS degree. Rachel jetted off to Paris to complete her schooling at the classic French Restaurant Au Vieux Paris D'Arcole. Upon returning to the states, she worked in a few restaurants and found that the restaurant world was not her niche and she wanted to return to her first love, baking.
Rachel started as the very first employee at Sibby's Cupcakery in San Mateo and helped the owner Sibby create beautiful and delicious cupcakes. The bakery grew from just the two of them baking & decorating to the award winning bakery that it is today. Rachel left Sibby's in 2009 to pursue further education and has worked as a personal chef and nanny (making sweets only for fun, family & friends) until now.
Making sculpted and custom decorated cakes for friends was more than just fun, it turned into quite a passion. I would love to make a cake for you!
